Although a common measure for success in walking is 10,000 steps, I've decided that a
goal of 7,000 steps daily is both reasonable and actually attainable given the sedentary
nature of my work. Over the past week I've met or exceeded the goal on every day but one
(yesterday). Even if it's not contributing significantly to my weight loss goal (and by the
way, it's not like I'm just sitting down and staying put once I hit my daily goal), it's
certainly contributing to my overall fitness on some level.
